Our Story

DuMarked began in the flower fields of North Holland in 1985, when third-generation bulb grower Hendrik van der Meer recognized the growing international interest in Dutch horticultural expertise. What started as a small export business for specialized tulip varieties has evolved into a comprehensive garden services company operating across Europe.

The name "DuMarked" combines the Dutch word "Du" (you) with "Marked," reflecting our philosophy that each garden should be a personal mark on the landscape—a unique expression of its owner's vision enhanced by Dutch precision and innovation.

Today, we maintain our Dutch roots while embracing global horticultural traditions. Our headquarters remain in the Netherlands, where our breeding programs continue to develop exceptional plant varieties, while our service operations extend throughout Europe, bringing Dutch garden excellence to diverse climates and settings.

With a PhD in Plant Genetics from Wageningen University, Johanna leads our breeding programs with a focus on developing resilient ornamental varieties.

Trained at the Royal Botanical Gardens Kew, Marcus brings 20 years of international design experience to create gardens that blend Dutch precision with local landscapes.
